Valentine's Day FREEBIE

With my now FIVE year old's mermaid birthday done it is time to move on to Valentine's Day. I will be getting our house decorated with all the hearts and all the pinks and reds shortly but first I wanted to share a really quick and easy Valentine's Day activity you could do with your Music class and even as a fun movement activity in your regular class. I first saw this activity on "No Time for Flashcards" and adapted it for my class.

MUSICAL HEARTS
1. Write out 10 or more gross motor movements on some foam hearts. You can easily find these hearts at the dollar store or a craft store this time of year.

2. Set up the hearts in a circle (face down) on the floor.

3. Depending on your class size you may want to split your students up into six teams.

4. Play some music and have one person from each team move around the circle.

5. When the music stops each team representative will stop on a heart, flip it over and their team will need to do the movement listed.

6. Send the next representative to the circle and repeat!

Low prep and festive - what more could you want? How about a freebie that you can just download, print and cut? Click here for your very own Valentine gross motor movement cards.
